There is no difference if you use a web browser or the Zoom app to join test Zoom meeting cos all the steps are almost the same. However, it is better to join Zoom test meeting via the application.

According to the Zoom support website, if you cannot download or run the Zoom desktop client on your computer device or the Zoom app on your mobile device, then click on the “join from your browser” option and continue the process.
