How to Create an Instagram Story Template with Photoshop?

Getting more creative with your Instagram account is an excellent way to build your brand and get more followers. Plus, you can create amusing templates for quizzes and facts to share with your Instagram followers.

In this article, we are going to show you how to create a smooth Instagram template using modern fonts and backgrounds that are easy to use!

How to Create an Instagram Story Template?

Begin with the proper dimensions. For Instagram Stories, you need to open a new file at 1080×1920 pixels. This will be the perfect size.

Now pick a background. I’ll be going with an abstract background on an Alice in Wonderland color scheme by using a gorgeous watercolor pattern.

Copy and Paste your pattern, by using the Move Tool (V) to set it in place. Now take the Rectangle Tool (U) and draw a white rectangle make room for your GIF-styled quiz.  Reduce the Layer Opacity to 90% to help the background peep through.

Create the quiz with mere headers and titles using various fonts.

Now I’ll be using Beasty and Summer handwritten fonts. Design a simple tan #d5cbb8 circle with the Ellipse Tool (U), and then copy (Control-J) the layer several times, adding an interesting question or title beyond each circle.

Remember to add your Instagram tag at the bottom of the template before uploading! Then enjoy the fun feedback with animated GIFs.
