What is Instagram Reels, and how to get it

On August 5, 2020, Instagram announced their new features called Instagram reels. A new way to discover short videos on Instagram. This is mostly because attract more young generation to use Instagram app to create and discover short amazing videos.

What is Instagram reels?

The Instagram reel is an Instagram feature to create and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects. Instagram also dedicated a new space to reels in the explore section which is distinguished with a play icon. If you make the post public, it will be accessible through the Instagram reels section on the Explore.

The main aim of Instagram to add this amazing feature is to give everyone a chance to become a creator. It is most likely that Instagram doesn’t want to stay away from its competitors, including TikTok and Snapchat.

How to get reels on Instagram?

If you still don’t see the feature on your Instagram story or explore section, make sure you have an up to date version of Instagram on your smartphone.

To see if Instagram reels is available to you, first check your profile section on Instagram. You should see an option like video playing like this:

Go to the app store or google play store and update the Instagram app
Delete the Instagram app from your phone and reinstall it again
Create a connected account because some Instagram options are available for the newest Instagram accounts

Go to the Instagram app
Go to your profile section
From the three-lined icon on top of the profile, section find the setting
Scroll down to see Add account
Tap create a new account
Enter a username
Follow the instruction
