Samsung is cooperating with Instagram to add a new “Instagram mode” directly to the original camera app on the newly released Galaxy S10.

“We’ve worked together to rethink the experience of Instagram on the S10,” said Instagram’s head of product, Adam Mosseri at the Galaxy Unpacked event.

This new Instagram mode is formed right into Samsung’s stock camera app and is selectable precisely like you would choose the pro shooting or panorama modes. The Instagram mode allows users to capture and upload directly to their Instagram stories, complete with stickers, text, Instagram’s editing tools, hashtags and more, for what Samsung is calling it the “best Instagram experience on a smartphone.”

To show it off, Mosseri took a picture and uploaded it to his Instagram story right from the stage, which you can see in the picture below.

In addition to the Instagram community, Samsung is also opening up its camera in an open SDK so that developers can take complete advantage of new camera features in their apps. So far, Snow, Snapchat, and Lime have been stated as partners, with the promise that within the new SDK, pictures you take in those apps will be just as perfect as ones you capture in the native camera app.

Instagram will probably take advantage of that access inside its own application, too, but it’s the only platform that will be getting on the spotlight in the camera app itself.
