By After shoppable posts and stories feature, Instagram is rolling out a new feature that lets you buy from video posts. Instagram users will soon be able to shop videos they view in their feed; save posts to a particular “shopping collection” in their saved posts, and also shop brand profiles more easily.
The features all lead to Instagram creating a better experience where users can do a lot of their shopping within the platform, just in time for the new year holidays this year.
The new shopping collection section in saved posts looks a lot like an online shop, except with parts you especially like. The posts are all organized in neat rows so you can browse through whatever you saved before that you want to purchase it now. You can perform this through the usual bookmark tool.
Only specific posts are considered shopping posts on Instagram. Not every business has opted into a brand page that will allow them to market through their profile.
Instagram only recently let business accounts to tag their stories with the product, and now they can do so with their videos in their feed too.
So honestly, wherever Instagram users see something they want to purchase or learn more about, whether that be on their stories or their feed, they can click through to discover.
Those business accounts are also going through a small redesign so all of their shoppable posts will be classified under a new shop button. That way, people can treat a business’ page more like an online store where everything is for sale.
